      I own every kind of shapwear product available. They problem is that these undergarments create new bulges where they end on my body. But I've discovered a great new product that I use for special events...its the thinnest shapewear product available and doesn't create new bumps. I just put a strip over my "muffin top"/lower abdomen and my lower belly bulge just becomes totally flat and smooth. Just wanted to tell you about it....

      As a dressmaker, I am well aware of sizing and purchasing an undergarment a size smaller than your actual size is going to be uncomfortable within an hour. So, please do not do that. These lycra and spandex body shapers are already made to be tight to firm the look of your figure and going a size smaller will be the biggest mistake you can make with an undergarment.

      If you have a strapless dress, something tight can cause a bulge under your arms and around your back, so be extra careful of that common problem with undergarments. If your dress is strapless, then you may want to wear a long line bra. If your dress is fitted through the waist and hips, then you want something one piece as not to show a waistline bulge or line. You may want a strapless body briefer that goes from your bust to your crotch for a lean line look. If your dress has a waistline, then spanx may work well for you.

      The style of your undergarments totally depend on the shape and style of your dress. So, take a shower and powder your body and go shopping. Try to find undergarments that are the same basic silhouette of your dress for the best fit. If you intend to wear panty hose or Spanx, you may also want to wear a body briefer to avoid the waistline bulge that may occur.

      It depends on your body type. Get the short one if you have nice legs and thighs, but get the long one if your legs need to be "shaped" too.

      Spanx have worked best for me, but my problem areas are more my butt and thighs....but they make a Spanx that comes all the way up to your bra, it actually attaches to it, so it sucks you in from there to your thighs. It's extremely effective...good luck!!!

      I would suggest the Spanx Higher Power. It goes right up under the bust and all the way down to your thighs. Pretty much smoothing out everything. I loved how slim I looked when I wore those to my best friend's wedding. They didn't even roll down when I was wearing them.

      flexees shapers are great and J C Penney has several including the "fancy me" which is a serious firm control girdle The underscore is like the spanx only less expensive . Dr. Rey shapers are also good .
      Bali ,vabien and miracle suit also are good . Some times we need the "spandex diet" to keep the calorie curves out fo sight because the diet and exercise just take too long you go girl ! Good luck on the spandex diet !

    Shapewear under wedding dress?
    I bought a satin, strapless A-line wedding dress that's fitted around the bodice/midsection. What's the best shapewear to wear underneath? My main problem is my "tummy" area. Is it best to get a one-piece shapewear slip or to get a bra and high-waisted underwear?

    Also, what's a good option for stockings/nylons? I don't want to fuss with a garter belt but one-piece hoisery sounds like it would turn into a hassle. I've also considered thigh-high stockings.

    I agree that a lot of women prefer not to wear stockings/nylons. I'm 24 and have been wearing nylons all of my life so far, except on hot days or when I just don't feel like it. It does seem a LOT easier (and a lot less annoying) to just skip them. I'm wearing a long dress anyway. ;)

      I thought about the same thing for my dress. But, I wore a slip with the tulle and netting underneath the dress so that had a slimming effect and also the longline bra that I wore also kinda kept things smoother.
      Be very careful about getting something that's 1 pc cause you'll be in that dress all day and bathroom breaks will happen. It's hard enough getting that dress up with all the layers and then dealing with undies. I had to use the washroom 3 times that day and each time it'd be me and 2 people to get that thing up. Modesty went out the window!
      I also opted not to wear any stockings. I mean who's going to see anyway. You'll have enough on anyway. It's just another layer to worry about.

      The right shape wear can hide 10 pounds and take you down 1 size . JC Penney , Macy's , Target , Nordstrom , Belk Lindsey , and most major department stores have good selections of shapewear .
      If possible get the attendent to measure you . Most shape wear is made to fit hips 10-12 inches wider than your waist . If you are tempted to buy a smaller size you will only be uncomfortable and look like an over stuffed sausage with muffin top and thigh bulge . Just remember that shape wear and girdles are not a substitute for a diet and exercise they just make the "chubby girl in the mirror" look slim until you lose the weight . We gals sometimes need the "spandex diet " to motivate us to count the calories and do the crunches and leg lifts ! You go girl hide those calorie curves !

      Avenue, a plus-size clothing store, carries a good range of plus-size shapewear on-line. Also at some of the on-line bra & lingerie specialty websites that have huge inventories, you can look for the Ragowear brand for sizes all the way up to a 12X.

      I agree with the previous poster - you will want to look for either an all in one body shaper style, or a waist cincher (which are harder to find, and actually much less comfortable). Unfortunately, in my experience, most department store shapewear lines don't go much larger than a 2xl.

      The best way to check for rolling is to try on the garment and take your time in the fitting room. Bend down to touch your toes, sit on the bench and wiggle. It it rolls then, it will defiantly roll on you throughout the day. I like TC Fine Shapewear, it's sold in big upscale department store like Spanx, I find that TC works well for me.

      Go to tvsn.com.au and look up Bella Bodies shapewear. They are fantastic, so comfortable. If you do order one make sure you choose your correct size, this is really important. I'm 165cm tall and size 10/12 and i ordered large as you need it for your height, check out the size chart and be guided more by your height than weight. If it's too small it will be very uncomfortable and won't sit correctly.
      They have several different styles, for under a dress i wear the all in one, kind of like an all in one swim suit, you won't get bulges anywhere.
      Also Target do a range but i'm not sure how good it is. You could always go and try it on.

    I'm a young woman who does her best to eat healthy and I go to the gym 3-4 times a week. I've been really pushing hard with this for the last 6 months. I've gained about 8 pounds, which is fine because I'm assuming it's muscle as I do both weight training and cardio. However, I have yet to lose any fat or gain any shape.
    I've decided that I would look for some assistance with my shape and came across Shapewear. What I'm wondering is:
    Does Shapewear actually help shape your body (and is it temporarily or permanent)?

    Best shaped wedding dress for my post pardum body?
    I had a baby in January and my body is still not in the best of shape. I also quit smoking, drinking, and taking my prescribed medication when I got pregnant so I gained alot of extra weight..which is sad that I ended up looking like this but Im very happy for my very healthy little boy. Any ways...I am getting married in August and I do exercise, eat healthy and all that jazz. I am slowly losing weight but I know I will still feel uncomfortable in my own skin by the time the wedding rolls around. My fiance is amazing and loves me no matter what...I just want to look great. We dont have very many good bridal shops around here so I dont get very much help on what would be flattering to my body. I was also needing to find a good..no GREAT form of shapewear. Can anyone suggest anything?

      within 30 days. Leave it on for however long you will be wearing it on your wedding day to be sure it really works for you. Dress shape: empire waist with a soft a-line skirt.

      Girl get advice from their mom's and their friends. They they try it out and learn from experience.

      If you just need to hide a little belly bulge then pantyhose might be all you need, If you are overweight you might need a girdle or body shaper. It depends on your needs.

    Best way to hide love handles?
    Okay, first off I'm a mom (I know I shouldn't use it as an excuse but I am haha). I have a smaller chest, big thighs, a small waist but extra fat around my sides or love handles. I wanna wear something cute and tight for new years but my sides stick out so they look gross. I have tried the dr rey's shapewear and it works well.. aside from when you gotta pee (peeing increases with drinking, which I plan to do). I'm working out and trying to lose them but I know they won't be gone by new years. I'd like to wear a dress or leggings and a cute top. Live in central tx so don't worry about snow.
