One of the hottest trends in undergarments for women over the last decade is the use of body shaping girdles. Society places such a large expectation for women to look a certain way, yet our lifestyles do not really necessitate this. Seems as if men expect women to have an hour glass figure complete with large breasts, shapely hips, and a trim waste. The demands placed on women today of working a career while trying to raise children make this extremely difficult. Working out at the gym regularly and eating a controlled diet are fine in theory, but who really has the time, discipline, and money to follow through with this type of program. I believe this is why you are seeing more and more women pay for cosmetic surgeries because of the instant results they provide. There is another option, however, that costs no time and little money. Women can use a body shaping girdle to firm up what they already have, and smooth it out so they can look their very best at all times.
When shopping for girdles you will find that there are two basic designs available to you. Firs there is the panty girdle, and these are for women who just want a little shaping around the hips and thighs. Then there are the extender girdles that give women more firming up in the tummy and mid section of their body. Both of these girdles are trying to smooth out lumps and firm up tissue to give a look for a woman that they are slim, trim, and sleek in these areas. Women of old laced ups their corsets to achieve the same results, but fortunately for women today elastic fabrics have taken their place. A body shaper girdle utilizes elastic materials and sometimes straps with adjustable hooks so that a woman can adjust the fit the way she wants.
Today you will find these body shaping girdles in a wide variety of vivid and skin tone colors. You will find that a waist girdle has an extended section of shaping material to help flatten out the stomach area while at the same time slimming down the hips. Some of these girdles are even padded in some areas, and for very slim and trim women this can given them added volume in strategic areas. It would be nice if we all had this problem. Also, you can get a body shaping girdle that extends all the way up to the breasts and this helps accentuate the size you already have up there.
There are some models of body shapers that are to be used underneath small skirts and dresses which will flatten out and make smaller the hip area. These girdles look like short legged pants, and they really help to give a woman that trim rounded effect in the hips and thighs. These girdles are especially helpful for the times you are wearing a close fitting dress or some tight designer jeans. There are even some maternity girdles available for women who are expecting and need some extra support in the lower back area. This allows any woman who is expecting to feel pretty and sexy while pregnant and still feel comfortable at the same time.
If you are looking for a way to have sexy and attractive look at all times then consider purchasing Flexees body shapers.

QUESTION:

QUESTION:
Does anyone own or ever worn those body shaping undergarments? Do they work? i need to flatten my tummy.?-
ANSWER:
Yes! And I'll admit it's not the most comfortable thing in the world but it works - Spanx. That's the only thing I would recommend for tummy flattening or doing anything else to help hold in a few extra inches
I got one before I got married a few months ago to wear under the dress I wore to my bridal shower and rehearsal dinner. It makes everything more smooth, but the one I got wound up coming up very high on my stomach. So much so that I wanted to roll it down, but then that would have created an unsightly bulge. The other thing that made me self-conscience about it was that when family or friends hugged me I was worried they could feel the band around my waist. I don't know if they could have or not, but that would have been embarrassing to me. If you can order or buy a bunch online and then try them on in the privacy of your own home, you can find the one that's most comfortable to you.

Funny it hides bulges, and no panty lines, stays in place cost a small fortune. Do they think were that stupid not to know what this thing is, i think anyone over 45, knows what we all went thru, we banned the girdle with the bra.LOL-
ANSWER:
My wife has seen those stuffs now. She just laughs at them 'coz she never uses all of these stuffs as it's unnecessary for her. She's slim and has no bulges yet at 28. She uses bras with underwire support but she's not into body shaping girdles. Well, Dr. Rey's a big and instant help if this really works esp. to those who are attending parties and wish they can wear their dream dresses.See here: http://www.nextag.com/shapewear-strapless/compare-html

QUESTION:
Do those body curving underwear/undergarments actually work?
i am currently exercising and trying to tone my body, especially my stomach. i am quite thin already and i was just wondering if the body shaping underwear works. if i were to wear them would it hold in my stomach and actually make my body stay to that shape? or is their purpose to make you look good under a dress or something? sorry if this is confusing, but i'm not sure how hey actually work.-
ANSWER:
They are good, but for cosmetic purposes only... they DONT do the slightest thing to effect ur body weight or composition, or do anything to tone any areas. They just hold stuff in tight to make u look good under certain clothes. i found their really good under satin dresses cuz it creates a smooth line as ur flabby bits tend to be accentuated under satin! i measured myself before and after putting on the bike short looking ones once, there was like 2.5 cm difference, so not much but it can help u feel good, and pretty much smoothes everything out.. hope that helps!

QUESTION:
Has anyone bought and worn 'Lipo In A Box'? Women's body shaping undergarment...on...?
...Oprah today.
It looked like it's too good to be true. The women who modeled it under outfits looked slim, firm and actually taller. I'm just wondering if it could possible be comfortable. It covered from below the bust to mid thigh. Has anyone tried it yet? What's your opinion? They said it was .00.-
ANSWER:
I have it, and although I didn't see Oprah yesterday, I did just check out the website, and it's the same thing that I've used, and still do use. I love it!!! It is tight, it takes me ages to get the thing on, but once it's there, it's quite comfortable. It is quite firm, it definitely holds you in where you want it to, I feel confident when I wear it because I hate my lumps and bumps, and you don't see 'em when you wear this. As far as laundering it goes, I just throw it in the washing machine with my other "unmentionables", no problem. In the past, before I "met" this product, I would buy other body shaping garments, and while they worked to an extent, they did make me uncomfortable after wearing them for a short period of time. The thing I hated the most was how the waste would roll down, didn't look good, and most uncomfortable. The only drawback I've noticed is that when you go to the bathroom, and you need to pull it down, it can take a while because it is so tight. For me, that is a minor thing, so, in my opinion, it was and is worth every cent I spent on it.

QUESTION:
Teenage body image? Fanfiction story?
Sometimes I wish God had made me differently, that he would have taken his time creating me so that I could be a true stunning beauty. But with a semi-slender, semi-hooked nose, face hair, and wide hips, it seems like God was in a rush. Sometimes I wish he would have taken the time to create me like he did Tyra Banks or Aishwarya Rai. They're so exotically beautiful and everyone thinks they're attractive. So instead of a body like Aishwariya Rai, and the confidence of Tyra banks, God gave me a set of wide hips, a hairy body, and weird feet. No boobs either. I don't think God was in a very good mood on January 23rd.
I pinch the fat that hangs off of my hip as I look at myself in the mirror.
"Look at this," I mutter to myself in disgust. "Fat, fat, fat, fat, fat!"
I turn to the side so that the profile of my body is reflected in the mirror, and suck in my stomach. Why couldn't I have abs? Why did I have to have a plush belly? And why did I have to tower over all of the boys? Why couldn't I be a tiny little pixie like Alice Cullen and Bella Swan from Twilight? It seems like guys are more attracted to those bodies than these ones.
I hate being 5'7."
Finally fed up with my body, I breathe out and allow my stomach return to its usual disposition (a slowly declining ski slope), and drop any pinched fat from my fingertips like a bad habit. Wrapping the towel around my pear shaped body, I pull out the drawers beneath the mirror and pick out a lime green volleyball shirt and a pair of Addidas shorts. My hair is still dripping from being fresh out of the shower, and it soaks my shoulders, forming little pools in the hollow bowl in the crook of my neck. The water is cold now and when a few drops drip down my back, I shiver. I remember when Gabby and I went ice skating. She would always scrape off the "snow" at the end of the blade, and dump it down my back. And then me, being the cool person that I am, hop around like a derranged rabbit, trying to shake the ice out of my back.
I uncover my body and wrap the towel around my head like a turban. A very obnoxious turban.
I grab my undergarments from another drawer and slip in to them, carefully making sure that they don't roll up. Got to love your everyday cotton panties.
You like it? really? I'm only 14 years old, and I was sick and tired of these skinny, pretty witches hogging all the spotlight.Thank you anna!!! You're so nice!

ANSWER:

QUESTION:
modeling pictures, need help?
ok, im 16, a junior in high school, but I've been asked by an agency to model for them
im tall, blonde, and have a warm skin tone, and have nice long legs that a proportional to my tall torso. but my first step to is create an online portfolio, and one of the topics is exposure, aka how much are you willing to expose. im only 16 and don't mind modeling in undergarments and bathing suits, so i clicked those. (im defiantly not going nude! lol) but now i need to put a picture in and her is where my real question begins.would it be slutty or inappropriate to post a picture of me in my bra and some pants on the modeling site? its not a sexy pose, i just figured that i said i wouldn't mind showing my body a little, so agencies are going to want to take a look at my body shape. so, what do u guys think? remember, im a 16 year old young woman.
-
ANSWER:
Alright,i model because my mom does
DONT ever ever take pictures in your bra
if you can put up 2pictures,then wear your baiting suit, maybe next to a pool or a beach,it will be nice, and thats something they will look for,to see you like a model when you are not a model, remember before posting the pictures up,zoom in your face and body! to see if anything looks messed up,sometimes pictures from far away look sooo perfect and when you zoom in,either eyes are closed and so and so,and then take a picture with a dress or skinny jeans and high heels, depends on what you got
good luck

ANSWER:
You're underage, so underwear should not be a part of the mix. Wear a bikini instead. You can get in underwear after you get legal. You also want some outfits that portray you as a teen, some that are slanted to make you look younger, but be careful, you don't want to transmit the idea that you're "Lolita," and some that show you as mature, such as business attire. You want to show happy, sad, thoughtful, and maybe surprised. Wearing clothes is easy, it's getting an expression right that's hard.

What's the purpose, and for whom is this ladies "shapewear" spandex type undergarments?
When I ask 'for whom' is it for, I'm asking who is it that the women who wear this are trying to 'impress?' ? I mean the women wearing it know what their body looks like (and it's not like that). What's the purpose of wearing things that make you look unlike yourself? If women want better shaped torsos and thighs why not just work out and get it naturally?

QUESTION:
Amateur fifteen year-old writer seeking literary critique? Please don't be discouraged by the length?
Hello there. I'm a soon to be fifteen year old (January 23rd is the date people), and I'm writing a story on Fanfiction. I've posted this excerpt up before, but I added a few changes to it. Would you mind taking a look, and answering some questions for me? Thanks a million!------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Sometimes I wish God had made me differently, that he would have taken his time creating me so that I could be a true stunning beauty. But with a semi-slender, semi-hooked nose, facial hair, and wide hips, it seems like God was in a rush.
Finally fed up with my body, I breathe out and allow my stomach return to its usual disposition (a slowly declining slope), and drop any pinched fat from my fingertips like a bad habit. Wrapping the towel around my pear shaped body, I pull out the drawers beneath the mirror and pick out a lime green volleyball shirt and a pair of Adidas shorts. My hair is still dripping from being fresh out of the shower, and it soaks my shoulders, forming little pools in the hollow bowls of my shoulders. It's no longer the warm, comforting solution that drips from my hair, but instead a freezing and ice-like one. It reminds me of the times Soraya and I went ice skating.
She would always scrape off the "snow" at the end of the blade, and dump it down my back. And then me, being the cool person that I am, would hop around the aisle like a deranged rabbit.
I uncover my body and wrap the towel around my head like a turban.
A smaller section of the honey-glazed chestnut drawers holds other articles of clothing, and I open one up to pull out my undergarments. My skin is still wet and soft, so I carefully slip in to them so that they don't roll up. I don't care what people say - cotton panties kick ass.
I look at myself in the mirror again. No doubt I've gotten taller, and my hips have widened quite a bit. I get inches upon inches taller, and yet my boobs remain the same size. Why couldn't I have big boobs like Ashley Thompson? All the guys stop in the hallways to hug her. Why can't I have big boobs?
On the counter of the drawers is tall bottle of Jergens baby lotion - just another reminder on how I'll always be a baby to my parents. The scent of Lilacs clashes with the scents of saffron, curry and cumin, and soon the room smells like a storage room for spices and perfume. However strange the scent might sound, it is entirely appetizing. I breath it in, my eyes rolling back as I open my mouth to taste the spices in the air. My mind races with thoughts of what mom has prepared in the kitchen. Quickly, I dress myself so that I can go sneak a peak at what I might savor tonight.
Some of my strong points? Things I could work on? I really love writing, and with that love, I have a passion to learn. Please be kind, but offer anything you can!

ANSWER:
Its a good start...I just wonder where your going with it. You said its fanfiction so what story does it fit with? Fan of what? There is a lot of teen angst in there and it will put off a lot of readers...your going to have a limited fan base but I don't know if that matters if it fits with a story for fanfiction so I apologize if that is how its supposed to be.I would recomend at least hinting and giving some sort of idea of whats to come. Anything that gives the readers a clue of who this is and why she is thinking like this. Where the story is going.
Also, the story jumps a lot. I know its a persons mind so its going to jump but for a story its usually easier to stick with one train of thought. Especially when introducing a character so you can get an idea of what she's like. Unless of course your trying to imply that she's scatterbrained. The only paragraph I had any real trouble with was the last one. You say the smell of lilac mixes with curry and cumin but never explain where thats coming from...what causes these smells? If its supper than just rephrase the sentences a bit so thats clear.
Lastly who is Aishwarya Rai? I've never heard of her... I'm not big into pop culture so I could just be showing my ignorance....but you should stick to comparing her to people that the general public would know.
Sorry if I sound negative this is a good story and you have talent so don't misundestand me! Its just hard to get a feel for whats going on and why this is significant without more of the story. Keep writing! Good luck!

QUESTION:
Calling all women, please answer...?
so I often call it false advertisement when women wear such things as water bras to make their boobs look bigger, or wear them undergarments that make their bodies look slimmer & more in shape, or wearing way to much make up like Eva Longoria to deceive a man when she looks nothing like that in real life. Do you think that is false advertisement? That what a man sees is not what he's really getting? Women, what sort of things do men do in falsely advertising themselves look wise? I know a toupee is one of them, what else?-
ANSWER:
I don't think it's "false advertisement". Men complain if we don't dress nicely, wear makeup, and do our hair, and then they want to complain when we do?? Come on now....But I don't wear makeup for anyone but myself, and certainly not for a guy.
Hmm, things men do that are falsely advertising themselves? Maybe when they overstate their size down below. I don't see any point in doing it, it's not going to make us like them any more or less. Men are better at using their words to make themselves seem better, not so much their looks.

QUESTION:
Discreet girdles/corsets without bumps that can be worn beneath skin-tight clothing?
Does such a thing exist? I'm a 19-year-old female of sicilian heritage. I'm not overweight; I'm not boy-shaped.I'm about 5'7", weigh about 115lbs, have 34F breasts, with an out-of-shape, moderately flat butt (mainly because I sit on it too much - I'll be working out more once I finish with my schooling). My measurements are about 34-23-34. I can fit into a size zero pair of jeans, but find that 1's are a more comfortable fit for the most part.
That said, I want to know where I can purchase some restraining undergarments that would suit my body type well and also remain disrcreet under my clothing. No, I do not care if you think that my body is fine the way it is; that won't help me. I'm looking for something that would cinch my waist tightly, yet fit well and not show through clothing or ride and bunch up when I move or sit.
I'm currently using a girdle made for Chinese women during their weddings. I find that it tends to scrunch up when I wear it, and the zipper in front is very noticeable. If I wear it with skin-tight clothing, it is obvious that there is something there - and I don't want that.
If you could recommend some butt-lifting and/or thigh-cinching underwear as well, I would appreciate that too.
Many thanks.
Because of my larger breasts, I would also prefer if said undergarment does not have to be pulled down from over my head. I've never had good experiences with these types of garments.
Are you stupid? YES, a girdle! ffs-

QUESTION:
When actresses from the 50's or prior claimed tiny waists did they measure in or out of their girdles?
I always wanted to look like Sophia Loren. Her body measurements were 38-24-38 in her youth (I'm not sure if they're the same now but she still looks great) Usually, when thinking Sophia Loren, I think something like this:http://www.jdmfilmreviews.com/images/sophia-loren.jpg
Or:
http://automobilesdeluxe.tv/wp-content/uploads/2008/06/sophia-loren.jpg
But in both of these images, she is or may be wearing supportive undergarments that can suck your waist in a lot.
But there are images like this:
http://www.cinematical.com/images/2005/08/SL631020.jpg
which would make me believe her waist is larger than 24" out of her girdle. She still looks beautiful but not quite as drastic as other images. She looks almost similar to my shape out of her corset and my waist is 27". Just wondering.
-
ANSWER:
she still looks very tiny around the middle. further down around her belly button her curves continue, but right above it looks like a believable 24 inches.
wow! what a gorgeous picture too. she isn't completely toned anywhere, and yet she's perfect. i miss those days....

Or:

But in both of these images, she is or may be wearing supportive undergarments that can suck your waist in a lot.
But there are images like this:

which would make me believe her waist is larger than 24" out of her girdle. She still looks beautiful but not quite as drastic as other images. She looks almost similar to my shape out of her corset and my waist is 27". Just wondering.

ANSWER:
Actresses from the 50's usually were measured wearing their girdle and corset. These days actresses and non- actresses are striving to be as thin as possible in many cases. Some have taken it to far and are anorexic. I have seen some actresses with waists as tiny as 18 inches to 21 inches without wearing any undergarments to make their waist appear tiny. After starving themselves they were able to obtain their tiny waists.
