   one year after having the worlds CUTEST baby i still struggle with excess tummy fat and skin (yes, both at the same time- gross i know). ive tried spanx and liked it - but id like a body shaper with way more HOLD and COMPRESSION and STRENGHT.

   aside from an all-out corset, what is the BEST BODYSHAPER ON THE MARKET RIGHT NOW?

     that only happens if you wear it extremely too tight. your ribs will even grow weird if its too tight.

     you say the one you have does not feel too tight so i dont think you need to worry at all

     Wearing extremely tight corsettes can have the same effect as braces on your teeth if you are young and still growing it can effect how developing bones grow. it is a form of body modification some women do to themselves to get an exagerated hour glass figure.

     centuries ago Chinese girls used to wear tight restricting shoes that were about 3 sizes too small to make sure they had small feet which were desired by the chinese men. some of the girls' feet would grow so disfigured they had troubles walking

      Spanx body-shapers are available in most good clothes-shops, but quite discreetly in some shady corner of the store. Don't ask how I know, I just know lol Evans sells a prolific variety, however saying the word "Evans" to some people makes them think I'm insulting them, so, sorry in advance, not what I meant.
      They are quite expensive however, but in my friends experience, worth the cost. Yes, I know things I really shouldn't, but then that's all part of being an oracle, ouch, the burdened pain of secret knowledge.

    Will a tan bodyshaper show through a white wedding dress?
    My wedding dress is not made of thin material but its not made of the thick satin material either. I was thinking about buying a bodyshaper to wear under my dress on my wedding day but I am worried that it will show through or that the lines of the shaper will be visible. Anyone been in this type of situation?

      As long as it is as close to your skin color, you should be fine, just dont get a white one as many do, it will show

12. QUESTION:
    Need unique bodyshaper for my wedding?
    I need to find a corset/bodyshaper type undergarment to wear at my wedding. I'd like it to be similar to a leotard (no legs on it). I'd prefer nude color, since my gown is ivory and my reception dress is white (and the reception dress is thin enough that white lacy stuff would show through). It needs to have good upward lift and support for the chest (my main reason for getting one) but also slim the pudge in the stomach. And..to throw something else in the mix..my gown has a low back, where the zipper stops is sort of a V shape. So, good chest support, nude color, strapless, and as low of a back as possible. Any good websites to look at? I will go to some local stores this week and look as well. I am normally about a 36C size but I've been told for a corset, a 38B might work better since I have a stomach on me and just need more lift in the chest. Thanks for your help!

    • ANSWER:
      I've never had good luck with the one piece foundation numbers. By the time they fit on the bottom they didn't fit through the bust. Not to mention they're expensive as all get out.

      What I'd look for is one of 2 things. Either find a good longline bra (any specialty lingerie store should have a good selection) with a controlling panty, OR a good regular bra with some of those SPANX higher power panties. Personally, I'd go with a well fitting bra and the SPANX. Those things are wonderful. The Higher Power panties come up to right under my bustline, yet are much more comfortable than a longline bra.

      Whatever you do, make sure it fits well. I wouldn't order something like this off the internet, because you really need to try it on. If there's a Nordstrom's by you, they have great bra fitters there. Also ask at the bridal store if they have any reccommendations of where to shop for this--I guarantee they know where to send you.

      Yes, I always wear something like this when I go out for an evening. I am the mother of three with two of the three being twins. If you've ever seen a pregnant woman with twins then you know that your body expands at an incredible rate and you look like a house with in the first 5 months. Returning to normal has been all but impossible for me and that was 15 years ago. These products help me look my best, feel sexy and you can find the cutest hosiery to wear with them. It makes my husband happy becuz let's face it they are very sexy these days and I prefer the dress type with an open bottom becuz I hate to fuss with it every time I have to pee. lol It's easy to wear any undies over them but never under for the same reason, (it's easy to go potty that way). Even if you have a perfect body you might try something like this becuz it's sexy, fun and gives a certain feeling of confidence. Good luck ladies and enjoy.

      yes, they're made small -- trust me, when you take it out of the package you'll be like "how the hell is that going to fit me?!"

      Get the size B, definitely!

      Not sure if you live in Canada but La Senza carries a great line of body shapers. I think they are also available online for order.
      There are ones for full body (boobs to bum) ones for just your butt or butt/thighs and ones for your tummy.

      Remember shapes wont make you look like Marilyn Monroe. They just help hold that jiggly stuff [we all hate] in.

    I have tried a few different kinds in the past, but have never been completely satisfied with it. Either they start to roll down and I catch myself pulling it up every few minutes, they don't work the way they are suppose to, or they just aren't comfortable. I need one to wear under a bridesmaid dress this weekend that is form fitting and that can "flatten" my stomach (got a little baby weight after 3 kids), without being so tight that it bunches up a roll at the top. Please don't suggest Spanx, or any other bodyshaper that needs to be purchased online. This is something I need to purchase in a store (one that is available in California).       I'd check with a lingerie store like Frederick's of Hollywood if you have any there. I can't think of what type of store carries that otherwise then. A rennisance costume at a costume store may have one possibly.

      the spanx will add more volume and make the jeans look and feel even tighter.

      Consider the spanx leotard. It will bring your booty up and hold in your belly and shape your your top half.

    I'm going 2 b a bridesmaid n dont no whether a bodyshaper or spanx underwear will give me better shape n hold?
    I originally wanted a nice bodyshaper because it looks nice n would give me a nice shape n hold but was told by a lady in a shop that the spanx underwear had a much better control n gave a nicer shape, they aren't very attractive but I suppose what I really want is to look nice in my dress.       Spanx are great for a smooth line under your clothes, but there are much firmer shapers out there. If you really want to look super under your dress, try a Miraclesuit high-waist thigh trimmer.

    Will a "bodyshaper" give you permanent results?
    Who has used a body shaper and I'm not talking about a girdle or corset. I'm talking about an actual body shaper that supposesably shapes you up and sometimes. They are for the upper body or whole body. They're really expensive...who has used one and actually got permanent result?? If I never used one nor know someone who did don't bother to answer. And plz no unnessery comments. Of course you have to work out etc for it to help shape you up. Just putting that out there cuz there is always a dumb person who wants toention that like it isn't common sense.

    • ANSWER:
      The answer to your question is YES, but it takes time and training. There is a practice called "waist training" or "straight lacing" that women have been using for centuries to obtain the coveted hourglass shape. It takes time and consistency, and the results can be extreme. This usually involves a custom made corset with strings that can be tightened more and more over time until the desired results are achieved.

      The newer types of body shapers could probably get similar results, especially the ones that have several rows of hooks that can be adjusted. But any "training" would require extended and long-term wear to see measurable results.

      I highly recommend that you thoroughly research these methods before you make a decision. Do a Google search and you'll find many websites and youtube videos that show the results of tight lacing. Be aware that some people take this to an extreme. If your goals are modest, it shouldn't take as long.

      I'd also suggest that you consult with a doctor if you decide to do anything outside of the usage recommendations provided by the garment manufacturer. Waist training can be effective, but is not without controversy.

    I am going to be in my brothers wedding in Sept. I am a bridesmaid, I have lost 6 pounds and want to lose 15-20 more before then, but I am looking for a GOOD body shaper to wear under my bridesmaid dress, it is strapless, so the shaper would have to be strapless as well, I have had 3 children in 2 years, and the last was a twin pregnancy, so you can imagine what my tummy looks like.       There are so many different brands and types. I would go to a department store, like Kohl's or Macy's, and try on different ones. That's the only way you'll get the results you want.

    Problem is I am a queer shape, no asss worth speaking off, huge breasts, and this lump or tyre round my middle, so the usual Trinny /and thingie pants won't work on me.     i am almost 39 weeks along and i was wondering after having the baby did anyone wear a bodyshaper? for how long? does it acutally work?

      If you mean those undies or shorts that slim your body down, then YES it helps your tummy go flat. Wear it straight after birth and for further couple of weeks and you should end up with flat tummy. Well not pre'pregnancy tummy, but definitely flatter than if you just leave it to nature.

    my mom has a bodyshaper and she started telling me that it slowly moves your waist so you have hips. i dont know but that doesnt sound too normal too me. are there anything bad that should know about?

      I don't know what that is, but there is no way of changing your bone structure (at least no sane/safe way). Unless you could change the size and shape of your bony pelvis, your hips would not change.

      There is a collection of "BODY" at Victoria's Secret. I recently bought some panties and bras from that collection for many of my dresses. They literally "hug and stick" to your body and don't show VPL or weird bra marks. I suggest you try some of those.

    I have just found a nice halter top online, but i cant see the back of the top. It is a halter but will it dip down too low so it will show my bodyshaper? The body shapers i tend to wear go up to the bra line. So can anyone tell me if this halter top will go too low down my back or maybe just below the bra line?

    I had a crush on him for years and now....reality?
    I saw him at my old job twice a week, 2 hours each, for 3 years. Sometimes we'd interact quite a bit, sometimes we'd just say hello and chat for 2 minutes. It was usually very flirtatious but due to the company structure, we didn't act on it.

    I fantasized about him and had a HUGE crush on him for all that time. He was the highlight of those 2 days a week.
    We finally started to date about 3 months after I quit and have gone out 5 times now.

    Now that we've gone out a few times .........
    I like him, but my feelings are shifting. I used to go crazy just thinking about him and it now feels a little bit flat. That HUGE butterflies-heart racing feeling is going away.

    Although, the last date was very very nice-- I was excited to see him, we had a wonderful time, lots of kissing, etc. But now I'm getting to know him as a real person, not just the 1-dimensional guy I saw for twice a week.

    It's not that I liked my fantasy better... it's just that.... I'm realizing he's just "a regular guy" not some "god", if that makes sense. He's not flawless or perfect. He's not ONLY the flirty, dressed-up man from work... he's a guy who wears shorts and sneakers.

    What's your opinion on my feelings?

    PS.... I know I'm also not the perfectly dressed and made-up, flirty woman who he's only seen "the best of" at work .We've kissed so much all my makeup smudged off so he's seen me "bare faced" with mascara smudged under my eyes, in a dress without wearing my bodyshaper under it!
    Do you think he feels the same about the reality of me , or are guys more easy-going about this stuff?

      Wait it out. This is normal and you might develop a new kind of attraction to him based on who he really is. I don't think most guys care about that stuff if they really like you, or maybe he wasn't thinking of you in the same unrealistic way you thought of him.
