Get Your Body Into Extreme Shape

Reduce Belly Fat

Jelly Belly. Love Handles. Dunlap Disease. Whatever you want to call it, the excess fat around your midsection that wiggles and jiggles in all the wrong places just isn't pretty. Not only is belly fat unattractive, it can be downright dangerous to your health. Extra fat carried around your abdomen can increase your risk of heart disease. With so many pills, potions and programs flooding the weight loss industry today, many people are left feeling just plain confused about how to effectively reduce belly fat.

The first thing you must know about how to effectively reduce belly fat is that there is no magic bullet when it comes to weight loss. Reducing body fat levels requires a three pronged approach that doesn't come from popping diet pills or gulping down foul tasting drinks. Belly fat also won't come off by trying to spot reduce only doing sit-ups or crunches. It's just not possible to spot reduce, so don't waste your time.

So, the question remains, how do you effectively reduce belly fat? Here is a safe, practical three pronged approach to get rid of belly fat.

Frequently Asked Questions

  1. QUESTION:
How to reduce belly fat without reducing waist size?
Is there any exercise to reduce my belly size but not waist size?I've been doing running and cycling but i heard that will also reduce my waist size. I like to keep my waist size the same but definitely get rid of the fat on my belly. And i dont drink beer, so my belly size is not from it, but it's pretty much fat, and i know that it is fat i need to get rid off.

    • ANSWER:
If you really want to lose stomach weight and change the way that you look, there are three steps that need to be taken. If you skip any one of these steps, you”re going to have a difficult time sticking with it and losing the weight permanently. Although you may be able to use one of these on their own in order to lose weight, it is not something that you will be able to maintain long enough to see permanent results.

      1) The first thing that you need to do is to educate yourself, or more than likely, re-educate yourself. Much of the information that we get on a regular basis about diet and weight loss is simply information that is given to us by the weight loss industry.

      2) The next thing that you”re going to have to do is to begin eating properly. There are plenty of different ways that you can eat in order to lose stomach weight effectively but it really boils down to the amount of calories that you are taking into your body.

      3) Finally, you need to make sure that you are exercising regularly. It is not really necessary for you to hit the gym on a daily basis but it wouldn't hurt if you do a little bit of light weight lifting.

Is it possible to spot reduce belly-fat with abs training combined with cardio?
Working the abdominal muscles pools the blood in this muscle matrix.

My question is: Immediately after an intense abdominal workout proceed to to do 20 - 30 mins of cardio work at 70-85% of Max HR.

Will this encourage fatty acid break down (for energy) where the blood is localised and therefore spot reduce fat? The proviso is training is on an empty stomach.

    • ANSWER:
No, there is no such thing as "localized, spot, or targeted" weight loss. Your described workout sounds very good in general, but will result in generalized fat reduction as long as you sustain it over a long period of time and eat properly.

I'm 13 years old, 140 pounds, 5'8, and I run at least 6 minutes per mile.

    • ANSWER:
To really get your abdominals to show, you must diet and include aerobic exercise in your routine. Exercise without maintaining a diet rich in protein to enhance muscle development, is like having a car without an engine; you get absolutely nowhere.
Concentrate on overall fitness and maintaining a healthy heart.
      Nothing beats healthy eating.
Eat a combination of lean protein and healthy carbohydrates every few hours throughout the day to speed up fat loss and maintain stable energy levels. For best results, eat six times a day. Weight train intensely, three times per week on alternating days with aerobic exercise three times per week.

      Eat your
Protein from (lean chicken, fish, egg-whites and beans)
      Carbs from fruits and vegetables
Drink 10 to 20 glasses water per day NO SODA
Start lifting weights do not worry about bulking up concentrate on total body strength with emphasis on core strength.

  11. QUESTION:
what are some good foods that reduce belly fat?
i have heard that drinking water helps flatten your stomach and reduce belly fat. what are some good foods to eat to help reduce belly fat/flatten stomach? what foods do i avoid?

    • ANSWER:
Foods do not reduce body fat. Nor does even water. If you eat more calories than you need, that left over energy gets stored for later as body fat. In order to get rid of that fat, you need to eat less and get more exercise so that your body needs more energy than you're eating and taps into those fat reserves and uses them to make up the shortfall.

Water may help a bit, as it'll help you feel a little bit less hungry (and therefore eat less, so your body turns to burning fat to get the energy it needs), and if you're retaining water from having a highly processed and salty diet it may help you not retain as much water, but in the grand scheme of things it's not going to work any miracles.

Sorry. A healthy, balanced diet and exercise is what you need to focus on.

  12. QUESTION:
Are there any foods that will help reduce belly fat?
I've read that eating almonds, oatmeal, fresh fruits and veggies can help reduce belly fat. I've been on a diet for about a month-going to the gym 3-4 times a week. My weight started at 125 and I am now down to 116. I'm 5'4. I just can't seem to get rid of my fat belly. Any advice? Thanks =)

  13. QUESTION:
What are ways i can reduce belly fat?
I've been lookin for ways to reduce belly fat and the net says that ab excecises ae not effective in reducing bell fat i just want to know what can i do....

    • ANSWER:
Yeah..ab exercises are meant to tone only, and the effects won't even be seen unless you have no fat on your belly for the muscles to show.

To lose the actual fat on your belly must be done by losing weight first. People's fat distribute differently and to target it you must lose fat on your body as a whole.

Start watching what you eat by counting calories and reading nutrition labels. A healthy diet consists of about 55% of calories from carbs, 15-20% from protein, and about 30% from fat. The healthy fats are Omega-3's and 6's found in olive oil, fish, and nuts. Eat as little as possible of bad fats (butter, fried foods, margarine). Eat sugars and starches in moderation (it's too hard to avoid them completely, I know!!)

Doctors and fitness trainers all agree that exercising for 30
min/day for 3-5 days a week does the trick. Pair that with resistance training. Add crunches, sit ups, and upper body twists and your abs become flat, toned, and lean.

  14. QUESTION:
Are protein shakes bad for 6 pack abs after doing cardio workouts to reduce belly fat?
Would I be better off not drinking the protein shakes? (Trying to reduce my belly fat)

    • ANSWER:
Protein shakes are PACKED with calories and other stuff you don't need. Protein shakes are meant to gain muscle, not lose weight.

  15. QUESTION:
What's the best way to reduce belly fat?
I have been under a lot of stress and I have read that the hormone Cortisol is the stress hormone that causes increased belly fat. I tried taking a product called Relora, which is the same thing as Relacore, which is supposed to reduce Cortisol inturn reducing belly fat, but I noticed that my belly fat got worse during this time. I am not sure if this product added to the problem or if it actually stopped me from getting even worse then I did, because since I quit taking it, things have still gotten even worse yet, then before. I am familiar with eating right and exercising, but even though I maintain balance with them, I find that I still put on some weight and my belly fat has increased more then ever before.

    • ANSWER:
Fat is simply the body's way of storing unused food energy. Each body stores fat a little differently. When you lose fat you lose it from all over the body. Most people have too much fat but some fat is necessary so you don't want to get rid of it all.

The best measure is not looks but performance. Can you go up a flight of stairs without being winded? Is it a big deal to walk home with the groceries? Do you have any weight-related health problems?

Drugs and 'diet' products are not the answer.

The best way to lose weight is through a balance of proper nutrition and exercise. If you burn more calories than you eat then you will burn off excess fat. If you do this over a long period of time then you will have excellent results. This is the ONLY thing that works, please believe me.

Now, saying it is one thing, the real challenge is doing it. It would be nice if there was a quick fix but there isn't. The good news is that changing your lifestyle is nowhere near as boring or as painful as people think.

Please don't go on a diet or rely on medication, they simply don't work. The very idea of depriving yourself of food for a limited period and then returning to your 'normal' lifestyle doesn't work no matter how much people talk about it.

Eat everything you like but slowly decrease the amount and slowly substitute healthier foods. Tastes change and I now actually like things that I never thought I would.

I've been an exercise consultant and people often ask me: 'Whats the best kind of exercise?' and I often tell them: 'The best kind of exercise is one that you will do.'

There is no best exercise or best diet. The best exercise is any exercise that you like and that fits your daily schedule. The best diet is to eat things you like but slowly evolve towards healthier choices.

Be patient. Be determined. Enjoy. Good Luck.

  16. QUESTION:
How to reduce fat belly with out straining the legs?
    hi there,

How to reduce fat belly with out straining the legs?

    • ANSWER:
hmm, by straining you mean high impact exercise?
If you are sort of overweight and cannot do much running in fear that your knees may get damaged, why not cycle, or go on an elliptical trainer.

But the best one i would recommend is swimming, it takes the weight off your body and helps you perform exercise across your whole body, it is a good workout.

or if you cannot afford going to the gym try going for a walk until you build enough strength in your joints for jogs or a run.

I had the same problem, but I got over it once I worked on strengthening the joints with weights and working out regularly. now I can run for 1 hour without getting tired, but I do get light headed after 50min :$

and a quick note, you cannot target fat burn, it all depends on your genetics, if you want a lean body you have to mix cardio, weights and a good diet. (don't try supplements or pills when you start off, not good at all) Just do the normal eat less (in right quantities), move more and you'll lose weight

  17. QUESTION:
Any natural tip to reduce belly fat?
I am 25 and my weight is 54. I want to reduce my belly fat. Is there any natural and easy way to reduce it as i cant go to any slimming centre because i don't have time.

    • ANSWER:
Here is how to get rid of belly fat:

First you should know that it is not possible to spot reduce fat in just one part of your body, like your belly. In order to lose belly fat you will need to lose the fat all over your body.

In short you may need to start:

      1) Eating healthier, this means:

      Eat smaller meals
      Eat more meals a day
      Don’t starve yourself
      Eat more vegetables and fruit
      Drink more water
Less sugars and empty calories (less soft drinks, cakes, cookies)
Switch to whole wheat versions of your bread and pasta, brown rice instead of white rice

      2) Exercising:

Forget crunches, crunches work your ab muscles but they don't burn enough calories to eliminate belly fat, if you do hundreds of crunches daily you will have great abs but you won't see them under your belly fat.

I prefer full body exercises they burn the most calories and increase you metabolism for a few hours after your workout.

Get a training partner or a fitness trainer, a very worthwhile investment - of the money you save on junk food for example =)

Try also to reduce stress and get enough sleep. Both of these are related to weight gain and emotional eating.

  18. QUESTION:
Is exercise necessary to reduce belly fat?
Can someone recommend exercise which can prove effective to reduce belly fat?

    • ANSWER:
The last fat to come off is from your belly. So just keep dieting and training and sooner or later it will shed

  19. QUESTION:
what is the possible answer to reduce fat belly beside exercise?
    how to reduce fat belly?

    • ANSWER:
Unfortunately, there is no natural way other than BOTH exercising and having a good nutritional diet to lose fat. Furthermore, it's impossible to lose fat from desired particular place - your body already has a predetermined way that it will lose fat off the body. It might be your stomach first, but then again it could be your hips, arms, legs etc that lose fat the quickest.

Liposuction is the only other way to reduce fat in one specific area. This is highly unrecommended!

How can I reduce belly fat without running?
I exercise 6 days a week in gym and run for 10 mins everyday, and walk 20 mins. My physique is improving but cant seem to get rid of belly fat. I drink 7/8 glasses of water, eat fast food once a week and consume healthy foods (eg: salad, cereal, protein shake, Cliff bars, Cranberry/Orange Juice, Eggs etc.). Can I lose the belly fat without running? I hate it.

    • ANSWER:
Everyone always assumes that sit ups and crunches will make the gut go away but the truth is that it doesn't help as much as you think. To get your gut down you need to start by eating healthy and taking long walks will help out a lot as well.

I used to work in a cubicle for about 4 months and my gut became huge because all I did was sit and stopped working out. When I switched jobs to one that I had to walk around all day, I lost 20 pounds the first month (I also chose to use the stairs and not the elevator)

If you want to burn off the body fat fast, the best exercise is Jump rope. Do it for 20 minutes a day, drink lots of water, and take long walks and you will notice a huge difference.

What is a good workout to reduce belly fat?
Ok so Im NOT obese or anything like that, but I have more fat around my thighs and midsection than I would prefer. What is a good exercise or workout that can help me reduce it?

    • ANSWER:
You need to lower your body fat. You can try P90X, but I would go with the lesser known yet more efficient Fat X Program (FX 12). I've tried both, P90X and the Fat X 12 and got better fat burning, fitness and weight loss results with the Fat X Program. It definitely helped me get rid of the belly fat and tone up fast. The videos are free at http://www.FatX101.com and the workout guide is also available for download. Good luck!

  25. QUESTION:
How to reduce belly fat in 98lb person?
I am 5'2 and 98lbs. I am trying to flatten my tummy by doing 60 crunches on an exercise ball each day. I barely have any fat on my stomach but it is about an inch under my belly button up to my ribs. Someone said that abs wont show unless that fat is gone, how do I loose that fat? My stomach isn't flat because my muscles aren't tight and the layer of fat is probably 1/2 inch thick. I eat healthy... alot of whole grains, fruit, no meat, no dairy, no sodas or sugar. But I get PLENTY of hemp protein and soy protein (I make myself a shake each day). I'll report any innapropriate answers... but thanks in advance!

    • ANSWER:
Sounds like your doing a good job, I would recommend doing some cardio, Getting your heart rate up is what burns fat, and yes you won't get a "6 pack" unless you burn that fat off. So try, jogging or for less of an impact, an elliptical machine, or if your up for the challenge take a spinning class, that will melt the fat off of you SUPER fast. Good Luck!!

  26. QUESTION:
How to reduce belly fat in 3 weeks...?
    I'm 16
    5'8ish and 125 pounds.
I have some belly fat and a slight amount of love handles i would like to get rid of by the time school starts.
well not get RID of, because it would be hard to in 3 weeks, but i would like to reduce them.
so, what should i do? any tips, ideas?
    THANKS! :)
Ginny, i never said i was lazy or wouldnt go to a gym.
    im not lazy at all!

    • ANSWER:
5'8 and 125 pounds? You already should be fairly "skinny," but probably not entirely in shape.

Cut out junk foods, and almost all sugars. Eat more protein, and toss in vegetables/fruits throughout the day. Carbs are an iffy subject. But, if you must -- stick to things like beans, whole grain breads, etc.

Start going to a gym. Do some cardio, and minor weight lifting. It has been proven that doing both in combination will result in better results with a decrease in body fat, and increase in muscle mass (provided you're intake of protein would support muscle growth).

Diet is key to any and all work out plans (and, weight in general). If you're diet is lacking, it will show. Either in decreased muscle mass, weight gain, or maintaining weight. Also, not all fats are bad. A lot of people take fish oil pills to make sure they get enough Essential Fatty Acids (Omega 3/6). Our body needs fats to function. Our body needs protein for...everything. Carbs are the odd bunch. While our bodies do use them as energy it may also use other resources (stored fat [why we store it], and protein) to convert into energy as well. But -- that topic still remains fairly heated.

I would suggest eating 4-5 smaller meals a day, varied with protein/vegetables together.

Also remember -- there is NO spot reduction. Doing ab workouts for hours will not decrease your belly fat. However, they are good for exercising your ab muscles.

There are a lot of theories, plans, studies out there. Key thing for you right now is to "clean" up your eating, and start exercising/lifting. If you lift -- you will NOT get massive, but you must ensure you're getting the proper nutrition/calories to support such.

Best of luck, and hope you have a great school year. :)

  27. QUESTION:
What is the best diet to lower blood sugar and reduce belly fat?
I tried low fat raw vegan, and lost everything BUT my belly, plus my blood sugar was too high.
Now, after 8 months, I am trying Dr. Bernstein's low carb program. Please, anyone who has had success lowering blood sugar and getting rid of belly fat, let me know how you did it.
    I am a 55 year old woman.
And please, if you're selling something, don't post. I want to do this through diet and exercise.

    • ANSWER:
A diet high in vegetables and fish and low on red meat and pork and avoiding as much 'added' sugar and fried foods as possible will help. The sugar in fruit and vegetables is all your body needs. Continue with your exercises, it's the only way to get rid of the fat around your stomach (which is the hardest fat to get rid of with most people).
A good healthy balanced diet and excercise are the best treatments for blood sugar problems but unfortunately if your pancreas has reached the point where it can no longer control its insulin output which controls your blood sugar levels then medication may be the only answer, either in the short term or the long term. Your pancreas is much like your heart, if you have treated it badly by being overweight and or unfit then it will never achieve its full capabilities again, a lot of the damage done is permanent.
Even very fit and healthy people who were never overweight or ate an unhealthy diet can develop diabetes.

There are numerous diabetes associations around the world, look them up on the internet and take heed of their advice on how to control your blood sugar.

Does cycling help to reduce your belly or belly fat?
I have a medium belly. Does cycling help to reduce belly or belly fat?

    • ANSWER:
      Arvind

Cycling stresses the lower part of the body. As such you will get some direct toning from it. But the real gain comes from losing weight as well. There is no such thing as spot reducing. You lose weight , more or less, at the same rate all over your body.

The best way to go about this would be ride, and diet. As you start to tone up, add some core body exercises... Sit ups as an example. would make all the difference.

i am 25/m,My belly is started to fat....so please tell me how to reduce belly fat...stair climbing is better for this? Friends please help me...

    • ANSWER:
Any form of exercise will assist with fat loss, unfortunately we don't get to chose where it reduces from.

Belly fat can be particularly stubborn, Some experts state that for best results you need to raise your heart rate to between 60 and 80% of your maximum (220 beats / minute - your age) - so around 115 - 160 beats / minute for around 30 minutes a day.

In truth, any form of cardio is probably good for you, playing sport, running, climbing stairs etc will all be better than nothing.

      Best of luck!

I am 5'10" and i weigh around 155 pounds. I want to lose around 5 or 10 pounds, but my legs are already really skinny. All my fat accumulates around my stomach, no where else, and I'd love to have some exercise plans that focus to tone up the midsection, but I have no exercise equipment and I don't have anywhere to jog or run.

So what are good exercises to do to tone up the tummy?

    • ANSWER:
      Spot reduction is a myth.

The only way to reduce belly fat is to reduce total body fat.

And the only way to reduce body fat is a reduced calorie diet. Add 40minute cardio sessions to increase the caloric deficit.

Look up a calorie requirement calculator. You enter sex, weight, height, age and activity level and it gives you an idea of how many calories you need a day to maintain, gain or lose weight.

Despite the no carb myth, you can actually eat nothing but Twinkies and Snickers and still lose weight as long as you stay under your daily calorie loss number (look it up, some college professor did it recently and it made front page on Yahoo like it was magic, when it's simply: calories in < calories out).

Of course you'll feel much better if you eat a healthy low cal diet- lean meats like chicken, turkey and fish, egg whites, natural yogurt (it's sour) and cottage cheese, a fruit or veggie at each meal/snack, healthy fats like almonds and walnuts, and healthy carbs like steel cut oats, brown rice, sweet potatoes and limited amounts of low-cal/low-carb breads/wraps/tortillas.

  39. QUESTION:
can we reduce our belly fat by skipping rope?
is it possible to reduce belly fat by skipping rope and thigh fat?

    • ANSWER:
Skipping rope is a great exercise - but please keep in mind - YOU CAN NOT LOOSE BODY FAT IN ONE PARTICULAR AREA OF THE BODY WITHOUT LOOSING WEIGHT EVERYWHERE ELSE... The sad thing is that the part where you gain weight first usually is to loose fat the last.. But don't get discouraged! It just will take a bit longer then you might expect, but eventually the stubborn "belly pounds" will come off..

Also, keep in mind that abs are muscles, and muscle memory works magic - so pull in your abs while sitting at your desk, walking, running on treadmill, etc.. The abs will "remember" the exercise, and you will definitely notice changes after a while!!

      Good luck!!

  40. QUESTION:
Bodybuilding - Which of these supplements would work best to help reduce belly fat?
OK, so I already diet pretty healthy. High protein, low fat, and moderate carbs. I lift weights a couple times a week, and get my cardio from playing sports a couple times a week. However I still have a little bit of excess fat, maybe about 5 pounds, covering my abs. And its been there for years, so I'm looking for a supplement that will help give me a boost in loosing it. I've been trying fat burners recently such as lipo 6 and hot rox, but haven't noticed any difference.

These are the ones I'm considering right now.
    1) Taking Omega-3 supplement pills (I doubt I get much omega 3 daily, and I heard it helps burn fat)
    2) Taking cortizone blockers (don't know much about them)
    3) Taking estrogen blockers (know nothing about them, or any possible side effects, or if they are worth it).

I'm planning on using Animal PAK vitamins as soon as they come in the mail, they contain omega 3's and l-carnitine, and other stuff. Know if they help with fat loss? Or have any other ideas for me?
When I said cortizone blockers, I meant cortisol blockers.

I also heard of 2 other types....Topical creams (have searched and searched for scientific proof these work, but find nothing). And also thyroid boosters (which I don't know anything about, but perhaps they might help considering my belly fat might be a fight against genetics, since my parents are fat)

    • ANSWER:
Forget about the supplements ... you're not going to get the results you are seeking from these things. Losing weight comes down to this equation: Calories In verus Calories Out. If you are burning more calories than you are taking in, you will lose weight, other wise you'll remain the same or gain. I would recommend taking abetter look at what you are eating, and when you are eating it. Diet is a big part of burning the last bit of fat. Or you might want to add cardio outside of your sports, particularly if the sports are stop and go like football or basketball. Also maybe consider eating more frequently as well, like every 3 hours, to increase your metabolism.

As far as rating the supplements, just in case you don't believe what I told you above ...

Omega 3's are good for you in general, but the fat burning component of them will be very minimal. Cortisol is a stress hormone, you're body producing when under stress, like excessive exercise. Cortisol blockers are good if you are worried about losing muscle when your exercise longer than an hour. There's no evidence that cortisol blockers can help you burn fat. Finally, estrogen blockers are only good if you are doing anabolic steroids.

So save some money, forget the supplements, change your diet and exercise program and you should see those final five pounds gone in no time! Good luck!

  42. QUESTION:
Will running reduce belly fat and help with abs?
Does running really help lose fat over your whole body? How effective is it? I've heard people say it's only really effective for legs, but wouldn't it help elsewhere too?

    • ANSWER:
Running is one of the best way to lose body fat.
Look at any long distance runners and you will know for sure.
Actually, running and crunches are the only good ways to reduce belly fat. Running is more effective when is done in open air and even more effective early in the morning when the air is clearer and more oxygenated so calories are burned out more effective.

  43. QUESTION:
Whats a good diet to reduce belly fat?
Alright guys I'm a pretty active guy and work out about daily. The rest of my body is toned. Although i cannot get rid of my belly fat that much. I have tried the tuna diet, but almost starved myself. Plus i cant stand veggies. SO PLEASE HELP!!! I NEED A DESCENT DIET.

    • ANSWER:
You want to have a balanced diet, and make sure you are getting in enough calories. I'm not saying you aren't eating enough, but sometimes people will cut back too far in frustration when trying to lose a stubborn area. This actually causes weight loss to stall in many cases so you want to make sure that doesn't happen. As an active guy, I'd eat at least anywhere from 2500 to 3000 calories a day. I don't know your height and weight, so you might want to go to some place like caloriesperhour.com to get a more accurate estimate.

I understand not liking veggies. Just try to get lots of fruits, whole grains, brown (not white) rice, fish, and lean meat. You'll also want to make sure you get calcium rich foods and foods rich in good fats. See if you can stand salad as a means of sneaking in veggies. They can be easy to dress up as long as you pick a reasonable dressing, or a light version of a dressing you like so as to avoid overloading on bad fats. Olive oil mixed with lemon juice and any spices you might like can also make for a nice dressing.

Increasing your calcium intake (to something like 1600-1800mg per day for women, not completely sure for men) can also help. It results in more belly fat lost than if you were to keep your calcium intake at the minimum requirement.

Mono unsaturated fats (the stuff you find in some types of fish, peanut butters, avocado, almonds, pecans, olive oil) also tend to help with losing belly fat. So definitely make sure you up your intake of those. Lol sorry for the novel, but hopefully it helps some. Good luck! 8-)

  45. QUESTION:
Does the AB LOUNGE help reduce belly fat?
A friend gave me his AB Lounge MAX and I am curious as to whether it actually helps reduce belly fat? I've always been aware that it is impossible to do spot weight loss, but does the ab lounge work? If so, what it the correct way to use it. It seems to give me lower back pain. Am I using it wrong?

    • ANSWER:
You are right. You can't reduce belly fat without losing fat all over, but you CAN strengthen the underlying muscles, which will "suck it in", so to speak. If you are having lower back pain, it may mean that your lower back muscles are weakened (stomach muscles and lower back muscles are closely related). If this is the case, and your back pain amounts only to muscle burn and soreness, you are just giving them a workout. If, on the other hand, your back pain is caused by muscle spasms or a feeling of misalignment in the hip, you may be doing it wrong. Make sure you are using ONLY your stomach muscles to "jacknife", and not letting your arms or feet do some of the work for you.

  46. QUESTION:
Is there any possible way to reduce belly fat in this amount of days?
This is probably a pretty ridiculous question, but..
I've got a Six Flags trip coming up in 8 days with my school Chorus, and band.
Is there any way to make my stomach look flatter? I don't have a lot of extra fat on my stomach, just a pudge at the bottom, but I'm sure everyone knows what i mean.
    Thanks to everyone who answers

    • ANSWER:
Fat Loss 4 Idiots promises that you will lose 9 pounds every 11 days of use. I don't like this promise because every person is different and loses weight at a different pace. Sure, some people do lose 9 pounds every 11 days, others do even better. But most of the people lose an average of 6 pounds every 11 days. This is still a great weight loss rate, so I think Fatloss4idiots could've done without the 9 pounds promise.

im also using this one.........im sure tht it works 100%

  49. QUESTION:
    How to reduce belly fat?
Before I quit smoking I was 5'7" 127 lbs. I was pretty skinny back then. Then I quit smoking and now I am 153 lbs. The weight I've gained was welcomed, except I now have a gut. I know, or think, in order to lose the belly fat I need to burn more calories than I take in. But would that cause me to become more skinny all around? My goal is to have my upper body remain as large but lose the gut if possible. Are there any supplements or drinks, such as from GNC, I could take in conjunction with the exercises I do? I work out about 3-4 times per week, 30 min each time. They consist of only upper body workouts. Any other tips would be helpful.

    • ANSWER:
if you have gained weight only in the belly, that can be caused by alcohol. the way the body metabolises alcohol, the sugars are stored in the belly. so if you consume more than one-two servings of alcohol a day, that could be the problem! if that's not it, keep in mind that there is no way to "spot" fix problem areas. that is, you have to lose weight overall in order to reduce fat. you can't just do situps in order to get a flat stomach, you have to combine cardio and weight training for the whole body in order to see results and to maintain your health. congrats for quitting smoking!! that's a really tough thing to do. you should pat yourself on the back for that!! good luck flattening that tummy, too!

  50. QUESTION:
does cycling help to reduce your belly fat?
Hi. I am a very busy woman, and somehow I manage to go to gym thrice a week. Other 4 days, can I just do cycling over at home? Is cycling gonna help me to reduce my belly fat?

    • ANSWER:
Cycling is a great cardio workout. Low joint impact. I do mine outside on a regular bicycle. Sorry you don't have time for that.

It will help you lose weight, but sorry, you can't direct where your body loses the weight. It decides that for itself.

Most ppl do situps/crunches to tighten up their ab muscles as they lose weight if belly fat is a concern. Seems like the belly fat is the last to go.

      Good luck.
